Cannondale's racing pedigree is unquestioned. Mario Cipollini won more races on an aluminum Cannondale than any other frame. And this is a frameset you can buy today for $750. And it was Cannondale that was the first American bike company to be bold enough to sponsor a European Pro Team. Trek would follow years later.
Yeah, sure, perhaps Cannondale's experiment with making motorcycles went south. But give them credit for taking risks and being innovative. I believe that is what American companies used to be known for doing. But, hey, I will admit that we here at Pista Palace are shocked at how well Cannondale is doing for us. We literally can not keep them in stock. We have a Capo track bike ($929) hanging in the window and that is it! Being purists, we only stock the American made stuff, but we can order the full line and Jason and I love our Cannondale Scalpels!
And so yes, Pista Palace has complete American made bikes for under $1000. It might seem a surprise to those who haven't been inside our shop, but to the customers and friends we see every day, well...I don't think they even think about it. They see the Cannondale as just another nice bike. And so do we.
Along with Cannondale comes Diadora shoes. We are excited about this new brand. With the skyrocketing prices of other brands, we think these are both excellent and race worthy at a reasonable price. Come in and try a pair on. Jason knows a lot about feet. Especially stinky feet.
As one of only 3 brands, we say with conviction that we love Cannondale. It is not simply a vestige of what was once thought to be the best American made bike in the world, it is exactly that.
