"Come Father, let us embrace at last!" These words Mordred spoke to his father King Arthur....just before he slayed him........And so while the Extreme Power had its reign over the peloton for years, only the seed of the greatest kings could produce a warrior of the Absolute Greatest Power Ever! Behold! The Extreme Power Super! aka Mordred.
No man made weapon could penetrate the Gold armor of Mordred. This isn't to say he wasn't eventually slain. We have all seen many racers win races with "superhuman", "alien" like performances. Perhaps even "enhanced" performances. However! Mordred is beyond a doubt the absolute highest performing Colnago ever made.
I knew when I saw this color in the 2009 catalog about a year ago that it would be incredible in person. And it is. It is amazing. The gold fading airbrushing is unbelievable. Gold seems to be somewhat trendy this season...at least in ads. You gotta' know that when you buy a Colnago, though, artistry comes along with it. No other company in the universe makes bikes that combine both performance and passion at the highest levels.
So....there you see my Fizik Aliante carbon railed saddle. This is the giveaway that it is mine! All mine! Not yours! Mine! I do have several of these EPS in Gold in stock. I went with Colnago tape since it has bits of brown cork that hit with the Gold paint. And just like The Razor you see Gold Nokon and Zero Gravity Brakes. Look at the brake and derailleur cabling...yup!...Power Cordz.
Colnago seatpost and headset are also on Mordred. Colnago claims to save 200 grams with the new headset design. Just look at the headtube and fork. They are Massive. Much more than the Extreme Power. The headtube is, in fact, hourglass shaped and flares out to 1.5 inches at the bottom. Extremely powerful and extremely sexy. You also see Lightweight Ventoux wheels. We know that Lightweight makes the greatest wheels in the universe and I thought that the spoking of the Gen II wheel would look cool. And it does. Continental rubber. Oh yeah....exact weight of what you see here is 13.24 lbs.
Campagnolo is the drivetrain, of course. Now I know...I know....shush...don't say it....you are going to say something about the Chorus shifters and cranks....I know...so....let me explain why I did this. Mordred is a warrior. The greatest warrior, in fact. Ballan proved that he could win a world championship on Record 11 Speed, not Super Record. And so I am here to prove that Mordred will crush all opponents with it's Chorus/Super Record build. Of course, I had to go with Super Record for the derailluers. Deda zero stem and Deda Campione bar. Isn't the Campione just elegant? Campione says it all. Of course I will be putting TIME pedals on Mordred.
Look at Mordred basking in the sun and sitting poolside with the hotties. Which do you lust for more?
