Different people ride bikes for different reasons...utility, convenience, sport, health, etc. While we will be the first to agree that these are great reasons to ride a bike, we ride for PASSION. Pista Palace has a full-time staff of two people: Me and Jason. While that might not be the normal sized staff at your average bike store, we feel confident that we know our products better than anyone around and encourage you to stop by or call even if its to say Hi or you have some beers to drop off. We both ride and race our bikes...at least 200 miles/week. We put on and promote races in the area and we have sponsored and managed the best amateur elite team in the country for the last three years. So when you ask us about the subtleties of a certain model of bike we aren't regurgitating some marketing brochure information. We are telling you exactly what our experience and feedback is on that particular model. Good or bad. We absolutely love bikes and love riding them.
Would you go to a Honda or Kia dealer to buy a Porsche or Ferrari? NO! And that is what I think motivated me to open up Pista Palace. It is simply an innate reaction to the current trend in the bike shop industry. Concept stores and local shops line up the same Chinese made bikes and then maybe have a couple of legitimately nice bikes to assume some kind of racing legitimacy. Enough!! Please!! It is painful to think of the overseas assembly lines burping the bikes out while we are sleeping. When you throw your leg over your bike tell us that there is some kind of connection besides "it gets the job done". Riding time is happy time. Getting the job done is what you do so that you can ride.
Luckily for Jason and I we get to ride our bikes in the morning and then cruise in around 11am to what is easily The Greatest Bike Shop In The Universe. That's a bold statement, we know, but we think we hold up under scrutiny. We have been wind-tunnel tested, stiffness/torque tested, pro-rider tested, and we have all the empirical data to prove our motto. Stop by the shop and we'll show you the evidence. We are not a boutique. Pista Palace is simply a bike shop. We are not trying to build works of art or stratospherically priced bikes or weight weenie projects. Granted many of our bikes turn out to be stunning and possibly costing more than your concept store price point bike, but that is what it is all about. Building a true machine that has personality and spirit. What might surprise you is that our prices on almost all of what we sell is lower than the bargain basement stores. I don't wanna have to pay more than $5 for a tube and so I don't expect you too either. Fortunately, you can get a nice Vittoria one for $5 at Pista Palace.
At Pista Palace we sell the brands that we love the most. It is no coincidence that these brands represent passion and excellence in cycling. These bikes and components come from those companies that have both a legacy and tradition for creating what is considered the absolute best in cycling. If you are looking for a good bike perhaps something made in "Asia", "overseas", "offshore", i.e. CHINA, than we suggest visiting your local concept store where you can have your pick of the litter from the sea of overseas bikes. There are good bikes and there are great bikes. We only sell great bikes. Bikes made in Italy of the exact same carbon fibre that Ferrari and Porsche use. Bikes that are made in France with carbon fibre spun and woven in France. And bikes made in the US of A! This is what we consider passion and what we believe make the absolute best bikes in the world.
We don't sell comfort bikes, city bikes, beach cruisers, or any other bike of that nature. And we don't sell prices. We sell the best road bikes, track bikes, and TT bikes in the world. Actually, in the universe.
